Top 5 Must-Haves We Recommend To Market Vendors

Writer's picture: Lily GalleoLily Galleo

Setting up a booth for a market, craft show, or local pop-up event? After years of experience as both vendors and now event hosts, we've created a list of the top 5 must-have items that make a huge difference when setting up and breaking down your space solo.

Our favorite tent is the Crown Shades. It’s perfect for vendors setting up at events alone because it's quick to put up and take down without any help.

Side note: For any outdoor event, a tent is essential. We’ve seen some vendors try and skip it, but after hours in the sun, you’ll wish you had one!

Not all tents are created equal, especially when you're working alone. We’ve tested plenty of tents fitted for 10x10 spaces, and Crown Shades consistently outshines the rest.

One-Hand Set Up/Take-Down

Pros:

  • Variety of colors

  • Easy-to-use center pop-up button for solo setup

  • Pinch-free leg buttons

  • Outer sleeve with a zipper (goes on like a jacket)

  • Transport-friendly with wheels and weighs under 40lbs

  • Super durable

Jacket-style zip up sleeve > sock-style

Cons

  • Slightly more expensive

  • No hooks on the top for hanging banners above the fabric

Handle-Strap Feature

Many market hosts require tent weights, and for good reason. The last thing you want is your tent blowing away or causing an injury. We recommend at least 40lb Tent Weights, which you can find at stores like Walmart or make DIY versions with cinder blocks.

Why We Love This Set

  • More durable than sandbags

  • Comes with a strap for easy transport

  • Long-lasting and convenient to carry

One-trip set up and break-down

When your car is far from your setup spot, a wagon becomes invaluable. The Sekey Collapsible Wagon is our go-to for hauling equipment and supplies.

Pros

  • Carries up to 440lbs

  • All-terrain wheels, perfect even in rainy conditions

  • The collapsible design fits easily in your car

Cons

  • Higher price point

Stay cool hands-free

Staying cool is key during outdoor events. The Portable Neck Fan keeps you cool while moving around, without taking up valuable table space like traditional fans.

Pros

  • Hands-free breeze that travels with you

  • Quiet and lightweight

  • Saves table space for products

Cons

  • Not as powerful as tabletop fans

  • Works best with hair tied up to avoid fan blades

Bonus Option: If you don't want to rely on the electronics or you like having something to fidget with while you stand - we love these hand fans (commonly used at festivals) because they are durable, create massive gusts of wind, and, in our opinion, is super cute!

Fitted tablecloths make your booth look professional and work well to hide any items stored underneath your table. We recommend either Polyester Tablecloths or Spandex Tablecloths.

Pros

  • Full coverage down to the ground for a tidy appearance

  • Great for hiding items during the event (totes, bins, etc.)

  • Easy to clean and comes in multiple colors

Cons

  • Can wrinkle if stored poorly (though the wrinkles smooth out in the heat)

Pros

  • Wrinkle-resistant

  • Won’t blow in the wind

  • Available in various colors

Cons

  • Less durable than polyester, more prone to ripping

  • Concaves at the base can create gaps when combining tables

With these items, you’ll be ready to tackle any market setup like a pro!

Check out our upcoming events and we will see you soon at the next Miracle City Market!
